The use of abdominal MRI doubled over the past eight years, partly due to concerns about ionizing radiation inherent to other exams such as CT. As awareness is raised about the potentially harmful effects of imaging, providers have switched to non-ionizing modalities, particularly for conditions that require frequent imaging.

With long hours, seamlessly never-ending workloads and frequent isolation, radiologists are increasingly experiencing burnout. It’s a problem that can have serious effects on one’s work if not addressed properly. But considering the nature of the business, burnout can be hard to prevent and manage within realistic limits of the profession.

Implementing business analytics into radiology operations may seem like a daunting task, but practice leaders must remember they can use such data without building their own in-house tools from scratch.
