AmerisourceBergen acquires Bellco Health for $190M

Pharmaceutical services company AmerisourceBergen has acquired Bellco Health, a distributor of branded and generic pharmaceuticals, for a revised purchase price of approximately $190 million in cash.

The Valley Forge, Pa.-based AmerisourceBergen initially proposed the acquisition in March 2007 at an estimated $235 million, but the price was decreased due to regulatory issue and business matters, which the company said have now been resolved.

Bellco Health of North Amityville, N.Y., which has annual revenues of approximately $2 billion, markets and sells generic pharmaceuticals to individual retail pharmacies, and provides pharmaceutical products and services to dialysis clinics, according to AmerisourceBergen.
