ARRT recognizes two new RA programs

Bloomsburg University in Bloomsburg, Pa., and Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Conn., are the most recent radiologist assistant (RA) educational programs to earn recognition from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

"The addition of Bloomsburg and Quinnipiac brings to nine the number of ARRT-Approved Radiologist Assistant Educational Programs," noted Cindy Daniels, RT, ARRT's director of educational requirements. "These programs support the RA initiative by preparing individuals who are eligible for ARRT's Registered Radiologist Assistant certification program."

To be recognized by ARRT, RA programs must meet recognition criteria that include accreditation, clinical education and preceptorship requirements.

Including the two new programs, RA educational programs currently recognized by ARRT are:

• Loma Linda University, Loma Linda, Calif.;
• Midwestern State University, Wichita Falls, Texas; *
• University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, Newark, N.J.;*
• University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, Little Rock, Ark.;
• University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Chapel Hill, N.C.;
• Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, Va.; *
• Weber State University, Ogden, Utah.
