New Orleans police searching for missing radiologist

Police in New Orleans are asking for help as they search for a radiologist who has been missing for more than a week.

Paul Rodrigue, MD, 43, was last seen on Saturday, March 29, in the Mid-City area, NOPD public information officer Karen Boudrie said Friday. Reports indicate that no one has heard from him since that night.

According to the Mid City Security District website, Rodrigue arrived at the Bayou Beer Garden around 5:30 p.m. Phone records indicate he made two phone calls—one to each of his parents—later that night around 9:50 p.m. Those calls lasted around one minute each. That same flyer suggests that the radiologist is believed to have had a history of narcotic use, though official police reports have not corroborated this information.

Rodrigue serves as a nuclear medicine and cardiothoracic radiologist at the New Orleans Veterans Administration Medical Center. He earned his medical degree at St. George's University School of Medicine.

Multiple social media posts on Rodrigue’s disappearance are urging anyone with information or who may have seen him recently to contact First District detectives at 504-658-6010.

Update: Rodrigue's body was discovered on April 8 near the area where he went missing.
