UMass deploys Merge iConnect EHR image viewer

UMass Memorial Health Center in Worcester, Mass., has installed Merge Healthcare's iConnect Access, which enables medical image viewing from directly within a patient's EHR.

Chicago-based Merge said its iConnect enables zero-footprint and zero-download DICOM and Cross Enterprise Document Sharing (XDS) diagnostic image viewing for referring physicians, so that images can be reviewed from within a patient's EHR. Merge, which develops health IT tools, said the viewer is part of its broader Merge iConnect interoperability suite.
