Agfa releases mobile DR system

Agfa Healthcare is now selling its mobile direct radiography (DR) DX-D system in the U.S. and Canada. The DX-D 100 is designed for the mobile environments, including intensive care units (ICUs), emergency departments, operating rooms or at the bedside.

The DX-D 100 uses Agfa's NX workstation and is supported by Musica2, Agfa's image processing software. It is available with conventional gadolinium or cesium DR panels for dose-sensitive patients, explained the Mortsel, Belgium-based company.

Using either a WiFi connection or wired network capabilities, the patient worklist is downloaded to the DX-D 100 from the facility's RIS. Immediately following image acquisition, images can be sent to the PACS or to an imager for printing, Agfa explained.

Images are available for a quality control check, according to Agfa, and the system stores up to 4,000 images.

The DX-D 100 is operated from a 17-inch touch screen and offers battery power management. It features separate battery packs for driving and imaging, and the motor and generator batteries can be charged while the unit is being used.
