Amicas introduces version 6.0

Amicas unveiled the next generation of its Amicas PACS, version 6.0, at RSNA 2008. This release includes an enhanced viewing environment composed of a new Patient Record feature, which provides a view into patients’ imaging history, and the Halo Viewer, a new image viewer.

Together, the RealTime Worklist and Halo Viewer provide anywhere access to imaging exams, which improves Amicas’ capability to support a centralized or distributed reading model with an advanced toolset, the company said.

The Patient Record now includes a view of the patient's current exams, relevant priors and other prior exams along with clinical information such as orders, reports and technologist comments.

Amicas PACS version 6.0 is fully integrated with existing Amicas solutions, including Amicas RadStream and Amicas Reach.

Amicas RadStream reduces medical-legal risk by automating and documenting critical results communications. RadStream also automates the prioritization of imaging exams based on a "most likely to interrupt" method.

Amicas Reach uses common email and secure messaging to deliver images, reports, and information to any email-enabled device via a secure web-based portal. Amicas Reach also provides referring physicians with the capability to request orders for new studies via a new order-entry module.

The firm also demonstrated its Amicas RIS and its scheduling, charge capture and workflow capabilities.
