Misonix, North Med enter distribution agreement

Misonix, a developer of minimally invasive ultrasonic medical device technology, has entered into a two-year, exclusive agreement with North Med for the distribution of the SonaStar ultrasonic surgical aspirator, the BoneScalpel ultrasonic bone cutter and the SonicOne ultrasonic wound debrider.

The agreement provides North Med, a medical equipment distributor, with the rights to sell in the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic, and includes minimum purchase requirements, according to the Farmingdale, N.Y.-based Misonix.

The SonaStar allows for quick removal of both hard and soft tumors; the BoneScalpel is a tissue specific osteotomy device; and the SonicOne is an ultrasonic wound care system, the company said.
