ZONARE begins shipping new ultrasound platform

ZONARE Medical Systems Inc. has announced the start of customer shipments of its new Zone Sonography Ultrasound Platform. The University of Manitoba in Canada, Mercy Hospital in Chicago, and PRI Diagnostics in Barrington, Ill., will be the first to install the system.

The system combines advances in ultrasound technology and the flexibility provided by Zone Sonography technology to be used effectively in general imaging, obstetrics, gynecology, vascular and other ultrasound applications down the road, according to Zonare.

The system's architecture has allowed ZONARE Medical Systems to bring the first Convertible Ultrasound platform to the industry to allow clinicians to shift from a full-featured cart system to a portable system with relative ease without losing performance. The cart offers a full user interface that functions like a conventional system, Zonare said.
