Eclipsys promotes enterprise integration with Sunrise software
At the 2008 RSNA conference in Chicago last month, Eclipsys showcased a suite of enterprise software designed to help healthcare organizations manage and integrate operations to improve clinical, financial and operational outcomes.
“We are focused on improving efficiencies at the departmental level and bring it back into the enterprise—flowing information from floor to floor,” Mike Nunez, Eclipsys’ vice president of departmental solutions, told Health Imaging News. “There seems to be a drive for more integration across the enterprise between EMR and RIS, and to see that information immediately.”
The company highlighted Sunrise Radiology, its web-based RIS with embedded speech recognition and reporting. Available as a standalone solution or integrated with Eclipsys’ Sunrise Clinical Manager enterprise clinical information solution, Sunrise Radiology also can be integrated with Eclipsys’ Sunrise PACS, powered by Sectra. It offers web-based 3D imaging, mammography and nuclear medicine tools and the ability to integrate with third-party clinical applications. Users also can access images, medication history, lab results, as well as both diagnostic images and results within the enterprise-wide EMR.
Also on display was the company’s Sunrise Enterprise suite of solutions, Eclipsys revenue cycle solutions, such as Eclipsys Patient Financials and Decision Support, help organizations manage the business of healthcare, Eclipsys said. The underlying Eclipsys XA architecture and ObjectsPlus/XA application development technology provide a foundation for improved performance across the enterprise, the company said.
