PACSGear highlights encrypted DICOM CD/DVD burner

PACSGear is debuting encryption technology for its DICOM CD/DVD burner, MediaWriter D200, at the European Congress of Radiology (ECR) this week in Vienna, Austria.

MediaWriter D200 with encryption creates password-protected media that protects medical images while in transit. The burner uses an Epson Discproducer to write and print DICOM CDs/DVDs, and encrypts all images and patient information using the Advanced Encryption Standard algorithm. The solution includes a web-based interface with local user authentication and an audit log, according to the Pleasanton, Calif.-based PACSGear.
