Toshiba offers refurbished CTs

Toshiba America Medical Systems has initiated a program that grants customers the opportunity to buy refurbished, previously owned Aquilion CT systems.

The Tustin, Calif.-based company said the Assurance Refurbishment Program allows hospital facilities and imaging centers to purchase refurbished products at a reduced price to suit a range of budgets.

According to the firm, the refurbished products come with a 12-month warranty and are inspected, upgraded and tested before shipment. Facilities can trade in any Aquilion 8-, 16-, 32- or 64-detector row system to receive credit for the purchase of a new or refurbished CT system.

The Aquilion CT systems have the capability to capture patient images quickly with lower doses of radiation, said the company.

According to Toshiba, a Quality Assurance Center has been opened in Irvine, Calif., to accommodate the expansion.
