Dynamsoft Image Capture Software Used in New Fujifilm Radiology Management Solution

VANCOUVER – Feb. 17, 2014 – One of Dynamsoft’s image capture software development kits (SDK) has been used to develop and implement image capture capabilities in FUJIFILM Medical Systems’ most recent version of  Synapse® RIS radiology management software. The new version 6.3 helps medical practices use more convenient image capturing and document management capabilities. It is targeted for use in all facets of the radiology workflow process, from the front office to teleradiology.

Fujifilm integrated Dynamsoft’s Dynamic Web TWAIN version 9.1 SDK into the Synapse RIS image scanning module. It is used for office staff to easily scan and capture critical documents such as insurance cards and consent forms. The SDK expedited development time of the module and enabled additional image capture and document management capabilities. These capabilities include editing of scanned documents, such as rotating, cropping and more. The SDK was also ideal to ensure cross-browser compatibility for users of the web-based Synapse RIS 6.3. The compatibility is built into the SDK.

In addition, Dynamsoft’s SDK supports native scanning from Mac OS X® devices. So, no extra driver installs are required for users. It also provides Sandbox security. This ensures browser-based image scanning applications are securely separated from the imaging devices. The use of Sandbox also ensures hassle-free communication with TWAIN-compliant devices. Dynamic Web TWAIN has built-in support for local image editing and saving options to a variety of formats. Documents can be saved to local or remote databases or other repositories. It supports 32-bit / 64-bit Internet Explorer® (IE), Firefox®, Chrome™, Safari and Opera™ browsers.

Synapse RIS is used by some of the nation’s largest healthcare facilities and providers. It helps them automate or simplify patient workflow processes. This includes support for front-office scheduling of appointments, dose management, paperless consent forms, and so on. It is a complete radiology business management solution that includes paperless forms, instant messaging, pre-certification, advanced exam-profile scheduling, and more.
