RSNA sees a boost in abstract submissions ahead of 2022 meeting
The Radiological Society of North America’s annual meeting is gearing up for what should be the biggest radiology event of the year in fall of 2022.
As COVID restrictions continue to ease, the 108th Scientific Assembly and Annual Meeting (RSNA 2022) is poised to see an increase in in-person attendance in addition to more presentations and interactive features. RSNA announced today that nearly 10,400 scientific and educational abstracts have been submitted for the society’s 2022 meeting, which is again taking place in downtown Chicago from November 27 to December 1.
“We very much look forward to an exciting RSNA meeting in 2022,” RSNA president Bruce G. Haffty, MD, said in a release. “There is continued enthusiasm for attendance in person, and virtual access to the full program will also be available.”
This year’s RSNA theme, "Empowering Patients and Partners in Care," will highlight the role of radiology within a multidisciplinary patient care team.
“The keynote plenary speakers will focus on our theme for this year’s meeting, “Empowering Patients and Partners in Care,” with a goal of raising awareness of the value of the radiological sciences to our patients and multidisciplinary partners in health care,” Haffty said. “Our large portfolio of quality educational sessions, scientific sessions that demonstrate the latest research, and the exciting new technology available in our exhibition halls continue to make the RSNA annual meeting a highly valued experience for our professional community.”
Sessions on all subspecialties will be offered, as well as educational opportunities centering on some of the timeliest topics today’s providers are faced with, including artificial intelligence’s utility and integration and COVID-19 and health equity. Several features are set to return, including the Image Interpretation Session, Case of the Day and Fast 5 sessions, in addition to some new features in the Learning Center Theater, which will offer interactive presentations throughout the conference.
RSNA states that they are continuing to monitor health and safety protocols, and that information specific to vaccine and masking policies for in-person attendance will be posted when available on RSNA.org.
Registration for RSNA 2022 will begin on Wednesday, July 20.
