AIUM hosts virtual lecture for sonographers on avoiding stress-related injuries
The American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM) is hosting an educational lecture for sonography professionals, offering tips on how to avoid common work-related musculoskeletal disorders associated with the job.
The one-hour virtual event is hosted by Charlotte G Henningsen and Yusef Sayeed, MD, from the AIUM will cover the following:
- The history and prevalence of work-related musculoskeletal disorders in sonography.
- The basic ergonomic principles of ultrasound scanning.
- General mitigation strategies to prevent and remediate work-related musculoskeletal disorders.
- Administrative controls that support the reduction of work-related musculoskeletal disorders and encourage wellness.
The seminar takes place live on February 8 and will include a test on the information covered. All participants who pass the exam have access to a CME certificate, the AIUM said on its website.
