Rappahannock Hospital goes live with Viztek PACS

Viztek, a software development company, has completed its Opal-RAD PACS install at Rappahannock General Hospital, a 76-bed rural acute care facility in Kilmarnock, Va.

According to Rappahannock, the addition of two Viztek CR units has allowed it to make almost a complete transition to digital imaging—only mammography remains hardcopy.

Rappahannock’s PACS includes onsite storage for three year’s worth of images, onsite duplication of stored images for business continuity as well as remote image back-up at a digital storage facility, according to the Jacksonville, Fla.-based Viztek.
