Florida imaging centers select Avreo interWorks

Two imaging centers in Jacksonville, Fla., which are a part of the Imaging Center Network (ICN), have implemented Avreo's interWorks radiology workflow solution.

Avreo said it developed interWorks as a single application, single database system to encompass RIS, PACS, dictation, transcription and report distribution services.

Lori Kramer, practice manager for the ICN, said it enables her to have a "bird's eye view" of workflow without having to leave the computer. She said it helps her identify potential problems, such as delayed reports and overdue patient appointments.

In addition, interWorks' web-based referring physician portal helped the ICN increase the number of referrals from physicians who access their patients' images and reports via the portal, according to the Charleston, S.C.-based Avreo.
