Allscripts bolsters client roster
Healthcare information systems developer Allscripts reported that application service provider (ASP) Electronic Medical Resources of Houston will provide the Allscripts electronic health record (EHR) and practice management products to physicians in Independent Practice Associations (IPAs) in the U.S.
The two companies also announced that IntegraNet, an IPA representing some 1,000 primary care and specialty physicians in the Houston area, has agreed to deploy the Allscripts systems via Electronic Medical Resources, initially for 150 physicians.
To encourage utilization, IntegraNet will provide physicians who adopt the EHR up to a 25 percent premium on their annual IPA bonus -- a figure that it estimates could amount to as much as $60 to $120 per patient, according to the Chicago-based Allscripts.
