ASRT announces changes to its continuing education delivery offerings
In an announcement shared Tuesday, October 27th, the American Society of Radiologic Technologists said it will be transitioning to digital delivery of all continuing education (CE) offerings. The change comes in the wake of COVID-19, when massive companies and small businesses have all had to adjust plans and procedures in order to meet the needs of their base.
The change will be implemented in the coming months, and become official in February 2022. Directive readings will no longer be published in ASRT's monthly scientific journals but will be available exclusively online. However, the monthly journal, which highlights peer-reviewed studies and scientific data, will continue to come in the mail each month. In addition to having 24/7, on demand access to the CE materials online, the number of credits included in the membership will increase from 16 to 17.
“The way the world shares information has evolved. Technologists have unique CE requirements depending on their certifications, American Registry of Radiologic Technologists CQR prescription, state licensure rules, and facility and regulatory CE needs,” wrote ASRT CEO and Executive Director Sal Martino, EdD, RT(R). “As such, delivering CE options by mail every other month is not meeting our members’ diverse CE requirements. To address these challenges, ASRT is changing its CE delivery method. Starting on Feb. 8, 2022, all ASRT members will gain access to our online CE Library of more than 450 courses.”
