Bedford Hospital selects Siemens Artis zee for rad, surgery imaging

Bedford Hospital NHS Trust has installed Siemens Healthcare's ceiling-mounted Artis zee imaging system for use in angioplasty and interventional procedures.

The Artis zee is equipped with an adjustable tabletop, flat detector and high resolution to improve accuracy in image-guided procedures at lower doses, according to Erlangen, Germany-based Siemens. Bedford Hospital, located in Bedford, England, will use the imaging system for interventional radiology as well as surgery. Siemens said the Artis zee is designed for peripheral vascular work, peripheral angioplasty and interventional renal work, among other procedures.
