Feds award $1.45M grant to Vital

The U.S. government has awarded Vital Images a Qualifying Therapeutic Discovery Project grant of $1.45 million for research and development.

The grant is a component of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010, aiming to increase jobs as well as medical research and development. The Minneapolis-based Vital produces advanced visualization software and said it received the grant for nine technologies that it has developed within the past 18 months.
