Philips ships first MX 16-slice CT orders

Philips Healthcare has made the first commercial shipments of its MX 16-slice CT scanner, including to University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center in Chardon, Ohio.

The 16-slice system could be for those who want to replace a current scanner or add a second system, but have purchasing cost concerns stemming from economic pressures, according to the company.  The MX is capable of executing all routine applications, including CT angiography (CTA), as well as dental planning or virtual colonoscopy.

Philips also said that its MX is compatible with the Extended Brilliance Workspace and Brilliance Workspace Portal.

The hospital is an affiliate of University Hospitals, comprised of a network of primary care physicians, specialists, outpatient centers, hospitals and related healthcare delivery services at more than 110 locations in 55 communities.
