U.S. Navy adopts ScriptPro's Telepharmacy

The U.S. Navy has selected ScriptPro’s Telepharmacy application to ensure that patients receive quality care from remote interactions.

According to the health IT company, Telepharmacy is designed to allow one pharmacist to oversee the dispensing process at one or more satellite pharmacies.

Pharmacists use the Telepharmacy to dispense prescriptions with accuracy checks and real-time electronic images of the process where the pharmacist is able to view, through video and audio links, the original prescription, the actual medication to be dispensed and the file image of the prescribed drug from ScriptPro's drug database, the company stated.

Patient counseling can also be provided through the same video and audio connections, the Mission, Kan.-based company added.
