ACR awards cancer institute national accreditation to perform PET/CT imaging
Quincy Medical Group’s Cancer Institute has been granted accreditation to perform PET/CT services, the healthcare organization announced recently.
The Quincy, Illinois, provider, which employs more than 155 physicians across Iowa, Illinois and Missouri, is now the only facility in the area to offer such imaging in a stationery suite.
“Providing PET/CT imaging inside our facility means patients no longer have to receive their scans on a mobile truck unit,” Director of imaging services at the cancer institute, Dolly Little, said in a statement. “Patients now can have their imaging in the comfort of our QMG Cancer Institute.”
The American College of Radiology awarded accreditation after performing a lengthy peer-review evaluation of its practice. That included imaging quality and procedure evaluations by board-certified radiologists and medical physicists.
The provider's cancer institute relocated to the Quincy Mall campus in March 2020. It first added PET/CT that summer, but its accreditation was publicized Sunday.
