AMIRSYS STATdx Adds New Interventional Procedures and Diagnoses

Salt Lake City- December 1, 2013– AMIRSYS® announced today the addition of exciting new content to STATdx® Diagnostic Decision Support System.  This new release enhances the radiologist’s STATdx experience through expanded and enhanced clinical content.

STATdx Premier introduces new Procedures designed as a point of care review for radiologists prior to performing a procedure.  These fast-reading, bulleted instructions for Interventional Procedures range from common to specialized.  The new Procedures include areas such as neuro, vascular, and non-vascular interventions.

“The comprehensive step-by-step approach is amazing,” reports Paul Woodward MD, professor of radiology at University of Utah. “I don’t do many procedures in my routine practice, but if I needed to do one on call, there are detailed directions on how to perform it safely from positioning the patient to post-procedure follow-up.”

STATdx continually expands with new expert-based content. For the past year, the Amirsys team of world-renowned specialists has been working hard to deliver hundreds of new and updated diagnoses. The STATdx Chest Section update includes new images for the entire Chest section, new diagnoses, and expanded coverage of topics such as infections and neoplasms.  The Head and Neck Section updates include new anatomy modules, diagnoses, and differential diagnoses. New image-rich sections include topics such as new lesions within the Temporal Bone and Squamous Cell Carcinomas of the pharynx and larynx.

“Point of care products used by physicians in their daily work must be continually updated to remain a valuable asset in the clinical arena. In the Amirsys’ quest to keep STATdx current, we continue to update exiting content while simultaneously adding new content to this product” says Ric Harnsberger MD, Co-CEO at Amirsys.  2013 highlights of both these processes can be seen in the major content additions to the Chest and Head & Neck Sections.

STATdx, the first point-of-care Diagnostic Decision Support system for imaging, is designed to support the busy practicing radiologist by increasing speed, accuracy, and diagnostic confidence in complex diagnostic imaging cases. STATdx also assists other imaging intensive specialties, such as orthopedic surgeons, neurologists, women’s health centers, and emergency departments improve patient care.  Additionally, STATdx is utilized by almost all radiology resident training programs in the United States and Canada as well other programs in countries around the world. STATdx streamlines workflow by reducing the time required to research and complete a difficult imaging analysis.  Its interactive digital format sets it apart from a textbook and ensures enterprise-wide access to on-demand reference tools at the point of care.  STATdx use has grown rapidly since its launch in 2005 and now serves radiologists in over 107 countries.
