Washington, D.C. – The Medical Imaging & Technology Alliance (MITA) today announced that Zack Hornberger has joined the organization as Director of Cybersecurity & Imaging Informatics.

“Cybersecurity is a top priority for manufacturers of all internet-connected devices, and critical for the millions of patients who depend on these life-saving technologies, which is why we’re pleased to bring Zack’s expertise to our team,” said Patrick Hope, executive director of MITA. “Zack’s deep understanding of the issues and policies surrounding cybersecurity and imaging informatics and his experience in the field will help ensure that MITA communicates effectively to lawmakers and regulators.”

Hornberger has experience with hands-on network engineering and architecting data centers. Prior to joining MITA, he worked with Security First Corp., a small cybersecurity company based in southern California in a variety of roles: pre-sales engineering, solutions architecture across high-risk industries including healthcare and financial, and technical writing. Hornberger’s most recent project involved designing a solution for a large healthcare managed services provider (MSP) in Alabama to protect their wide network of health care providers. He’s also worked with teams at IBM, Unisys and Sengex.

Hornberger holds a B.A. from The University of Maryland, College Park in English Language and Literature.
