Netherlands imaging firms join forces

Esaote International has entered an agrement to acquire 3mensio Medical Imaging Systems. The acquisition will enable Esaote's Pie Medical Imaging group to expand its role in healthcare IT.

Pie Medical Imaging, based in Maastricht, Netherlands, and 3mensio will combine business activities, stated Esaote. 3mensio, of Bilthoven, Netherlands, provides 3D/4D visualization technology. Through the acquisition, 3mensio will have access to Pie Medical Imaging's additional scale and market resources, according to 3mensio.
 
Financial details of the agreement were not disclosed.
