GE unveils new PET/CT system
GE Healthcare has released its latest PET/CT scanner, the Optima PET/CT 560, available in 8- and 16-slice configurations with automatic radiation dose reduction and modulation.
GE is marketing the system’s convenient time-saving features, including quality assurance reports and 2-meter whole-body scans, obviating patient repositioning, the Waukesha, Wis.-based company said. The Optima also comes with color-coded radiation dose reduction protocols and automatic 3D dose modulation, and can be used as a standalone CT scanner.
