DR Systems, Vital Images combine products

DR Systems Inc. plans to integrate Vital Image Inc.'s Vitrea 2 software medical imaging visualization software into its Dominator RIS/PACS product. The terms of the agreement have not been disclosed.

Vitrea 2 software is able to generate 2D, 3D and 4D images of the body from an assortment of imaging date from modalities including computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance (MR), and positron emission tomography (PET). The software allows clinicians to navigate through the images, and includes a number of optional tools for cardiac, colon and vessel probes, among others.
