RTI PACS gets FDA OK for mammo applications

Web-based PACS vendor RealTimeImage (RTI) has received U.S. FDA clearance to market its iPACS PRISM v.5.0 Web-based PACS for primary mammography reading.  
   
The internet-driven image management system in conjunction with FDA-approved display hardware, is now cleared for the viewing, communication and interpretation of lossless mammography images, RTI said.      
   
iPACS PRISM is available for specialties that include radiology, cardiology and orthopedics. RTI's Pixels-on-Demand image streaming and collaboration technology, delivers quick access to lossless DICOM data over any network connection.
