WestCare selects McKesson

McKesson will be implementing Paragon, its hospital information system designed for community hospitals, at WestCare Health System in Sylva, N.C.

WestCare will use Paragon's Microsoft-based technology and integrated clinical and financial applications to transform its operations into a digital healthcare system, McKesson said.

Using McKesson's Horizon Medical Imaging and Horizon Patient Folder applications, WestCare will integrate its medical records with electronic diagnostic and document images for a complete view of a patient's care. Paragon's WebStation for Physicians will give authorized users access to all current patient information and share it simultaneously via secure Internet and Intranet connections, McKesson said.
