M. D. Anderson takes GEMSIT Centricity Pharmacy system
GE Medical Systems Information Technologies (GEMSIT) has signed a 10-year agreement with the University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston to license and install the GE Centricity Pharmacy system.
M. D. Anderson plans to implement the Centricity software -- formerly BDM RxTFC Pharmacy Management software -- in all pharmacies throughout its campus.
Centricity Pharmacy provides patient safety features for cancer patient care, including the support of extensive dose checking beyond that provided by drug databases, the tracking of lifetime dosing and an option allowing pharmacy professionals to predefine protocols for oncology treatment.
