Kodak awarded multi-million dollar VA orders

Eastman Kodak Co. will provide the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) several million dollars worth of computed radiography (CR) and digital radiography (DR) systems.

Fourteen VA facilities purchased 22 Kodak DirectView CR systems and seven DirectView DR systems. Two other government facilities -- the National Institute of Health and Naval Station Great Lakes -- also placed orders for DirectView CR 850 and CR 950 systems from Kodak's Health Imaging unit.

The CR 850 is a 14-by-17-inch single-cassette system with throughput of up to 104 cassettes an hour. The CR 950 is a multi-cassette system designed for high-volume radiology departments and clinics. The company's DR platform includes the DirectView DR 5100 system for chest and other upright examinations; the 7100 system, which uses a tilt table and overhead tube to perform general radiography exams; and the 9000 system, which has a flexible U-arm for general radiography and trauma exams.
