Kleinfeld to take Siemens' Worldwide Communications post
Klaus Kleinfeld, president and CEO of U.S. operations for Siemens AG, is heading to a new assignment.
Kleinfeld will oversee the company's worldwide Information and Communications businesses, effective Jan. 1, 2004. Siemens says it expects to announce his successor before the end of the month.
Kleinfeld has served as president and CEO of Siemens USA since January 2002 and previously held the post of COO for Siemens USA. Prior to coming to Siemens USA, Kleinfeld was executive vice president and a member of the executive board of the Siemens Medical Engineering Group.
In his new role in Munich, Kleinfeld will have regional responsibilities for Russia and the other former Soviet Republics, Africa and the Middle East.
