R.I. congressman to deliver keynote address at HIMSS 2004
Congressman Patrick J. Kennedy (D-R.I.) will be a keynote speaker at next week's Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society's (HIMSS) Annual Conference and Exhibition.
This year's forum is set for the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla., from Feb. 22 through Feb. 26.
Kennedy's appearance is sponsored by healthcare information systems firm Emergisoft Corp.
As a member of the House Labor, Health and Human Services and Education Appropriations Subcommittee, Kennedy supports the doubling of the National Institute of Health budget, as well as increased funding levels for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, bioterrorism research and public health.
Kennedy is scheduled to speak on Feb. 26, from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
