New Products: Candelis, iCAD, Sony
Candelis announced a new information lifecycle management (ILM) system to its ImageGrid 1000 and 700 that includes technology integrated from the Sony LIB-81 and LIB-162 series Advanced Intelligent Tape (AIT) libraries with ImageGrid ILM software. ImageGrid is a line of DICOM server appliances designed to speed digital image access and routing, simplify image management, and provide storage and archiving. Candelis collaborated with Sony to incorporate the features of the LIB-81 and LIB-162 series tape libraries, which are based on the AIT format developed by Sony, along with back-end ImageGrid ILM software.
iCAD announced the release of a new version of its CAD software that is available with all SecondLook 300 and SecondLook 700 systems. CAD v7.2 is a highly trained algorithm that automatically identifies and marks areas typically associated with cancer. The CAD software marks the primary indications of breast cancer in a consistent, logical manner that is closely aligned with standard mammography training. In clinical studies, iCAD has been shown to find up to 72 percent of cancers that had been missed on the previous mammogram exam. According to the company, CAD v7.2 offers the following benefits: reduced false markings of vascular calcifications, film noise or grain, lymph nodes, and linear structures.
