Holy Cross Hospital implements ePath's ASAP+
Responding in part to the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations' (JCAHO) requirement for immediate compliance of all regulatory training of medical staff, Holy Cross Hospital has implemented ePath Learning Inc.'s ASAP+ to meet their compliance and patient training initiatives.

Leveraging ePath Learning's web-based Integrated Learning Management Service (iLMS) and the hospital's existing wireless computers-on-wheels (COWs), Holy Cross Hospital began training hospital personnel across all its various departments.

Departments such as the OR, ER, critical care, labor & delivery and MedSurg utilize the COWs to quickly train staff on compliance regulations such as HIPAA, and professional training, such as advanced cardiac life support, CPR, domestic violence and fetal heart monitoring.

Designed with patient safety training in mind, Holy Cross educators developed all online training modules in short 15-minute segments to reduce the impact on staff time and to eliminate any disruption of patient care. If nurses have to leave the training they can easily bookmark their place and return at their convenience. Utilizing ePath Learning ASAP+, staff also can review what they need to take while managers can monitor progress along individual learning paths and schedule training as needed.

"In 2005, 85 percent of the hospital's entire training will be deployed on ePath Learning ASAP+, quickly delivering critical compliance and patient care training to our medical staff to continuously improve the overall quality of care," said Marylou Alonso, director of clinical education.
