Eclipsys wins its largest contract for 2004

Eclipsys Corp. has been awarded a multi-year contract to provide information technology (IT) outsourcing services at North Shore Long Island Jewish Health System
   
Under the terms of the contract, Eclipsys will manage and run the IT operations for North Shore-LIJ-owned hospitals (nine total), which include network, desktop, and distributed services, help desk support and problem resolution, as well as applications and mainframe systems services. As part of the transaction, approximately 180 employees who currently support North Shore-LIJ operations will be transferred to Eclipsys.
   
Eclipsys said North Shore-LIJ also will implement its suite of Eclipsys Sunrise Clinical systems over a timeframe yet to be determined. As part of the phased implementation, Eclipsys said it also will provide professional services and training.
