Kodak debuts enhancements to CR platform
Eastman Kodak Co. has unveiled enhancements to its computed radiography (CR) portfolio.
Kodak's Health Imaging Groups has added upgrades to its Kodak DirectView Total Quality Tool (TQT) software for image quality testing and reporting, and a new panoramic dental cassette for use with Kodak DirectView CR 850 and CR 950 systems.
Kodak TQT software provides objective image quality analysis and quality assurance reporting for all Kodak DirectView CR systems. Regular testing with this tool can ensure that Kodak CR systems, cassettes and storage phosphor screens are functioning optimally.
After the tests are conducted, Kodak TQT software graphs both the current and historical test results. The tracking of test results is designed to predict possible failure modes before image quality is adversely affected and a service call is needed. The Kodak TQT kit includes a test phantom, user guide, and analysis and test reporting software. This kit supports 35 x 35 cm, 35 x 43 cm, 24 x 30 cm, 18 x 24 cm and 15 x 30 cm cassette sizes.
The new 15 x 30 cm dental cassette allows healthcare facilities with Kodak CR 850 and CR 950 systems to capture panoramic dental exams digitally. The Kodak DirectView CR 850 system is the industry's fastest single plate reader for 14 x 17 inch (35 x 43 cm) cassettes with a speed of 91 cassettes an hour. The CR 850 system processes up to 104 cassettes an hour including other sizes.
The multi-cassette Kodak DirectView CR 950 system manages 16 cassettes simultaneously, while the Kodak DirectView CR 500 system is designed to premium image quality in what Kodak's describes as a "value-priced" tabletop unit.
