Barco gets FDA OK for mammography CRT

Barco this week announced Food and Drug Administration 510K clearance for its CRT-based MGD 521M display.

The 5 mega pixel MGD 521M Medical Grayscale Display has been available on the market for a couple years, but recent FDA approval allows the unit to be sold as a dedicated mammography display.

The display is equipped with a high luminance of 450 cd/m² and contrast ratio of 2000:1. It incorporates a luminance uniformity correction function as well as a digital focus and astigmatism correction for sharpness needed to interpret digital mammography cases.
