Viking acquires Lighthouse Imaging
Viking Systems Inc. has agreed to acquire the assets of Lighthouse Imaging Corp. of Portland, Maine, for a combination of cash and Viking stock. The transaction is subject to several closing conditions, and if resolved, is expected to close in September.
Specializing in medical optics design and assembly, Lighthouse's products, patent portfolio and services offerings include endoscopic instrumentation, optical measuring systems, medical illumination, fiber optic imaging technology and new optical product specification and feasibility studies.
Lighthouse was founded in 1984 by Dennis Leiner, MD. Viking said Leiner and his team of engineers will join the newly aligned company.
The agreement follows Viking's appointments of Nathan Harrison, MD, and Ronald Walrod to the Board of Directors, as well as the close of Viking's acquisition of Vista Medical Technologies' visualization technology business.
