Philips deploys SpeechMagic at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary
Philips Speech Recognition Systems of Vienna, Austria, said that its SpeechMagic technology is now being utilized in the largest front-end speech recognition site in the United Kingdom’s healthcare sector, the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary (ARI). The ARI is the largest hospital in the National Health Service (NHS) Grampian Trust, and 60 radiologists at the facility will be using the SpeechMagic product.
At the ARI, SpeechMagic is deployed as part of Soliton IT’s reporting solution. The system is integrated with the hospital’s legacy RIS to allow physicians access to patient history from the dictation screen for comparing their results against previous findings, Philips said.
