Agfa installs DMS in German hospital

Agfa HealthCare installed the HYDMedia archiving and document management system (DMS) at the Marienhospital in Osnabrück, part of the Management katholischer Krankenhäuser der Region Osnabrück (MKO) holding, in northern Germany.

The HYDMedia system will be integrated into Agfa’s existing Orbis hospital information system, Orbis RIS and its Impax PACS, according to Agfa.

Osnabrück Marienhospital has 521 beds and employs a staff of 1,450. The installation took place at the hospital over a period of four months and is connected to ORBIS via the patient interface, Agfa said.

By the end of 2008, Agfa plans to complete the DMS roll-out in two more hospitals of the MKO-holding, the St. Franziskus-Hospital Harderberg and the Krankenhaus St. Raphael Ostercappeln.
