Nightingale inks 15-year contract
Nightingale Informatix, a healthcare application service provider (ASP) of electronic medical record (EMR) software, said that it has signed a 15-year agreement with OntarioMD for its Nightingale on Demand, clinical management system (CMS). The CMS is a software application that combines practice management software with an integrated EMR, according to the Markham, Ontario-based firm.
Eligible primary care physicians across the province will be able to apply for funding through the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care (MOHLTC) and Ontario Medical Association (OMA) Physician Information Technology (IT) Program when implementing Nightingale on Demand, the company said.
The OMA has obtained funding for up to 2,700 physicians to date and hopes to work with the MOHLTC in Ontario to drive further funding initiatives that will enable physicians across the province to implement the CMS. OntarioMD is a subsidiary of the OMA and is responsible for the administration of the Ministry's Physician IT Program funding, Nightingale said.
