Varian, BrainLAB book 14 orders for Novalis Tx
Varian Medical Systems and BrainLAB have booked 14 orders for the Novalis Tx radiosurgical platform, which combines technologies from both companies to offer noninvasive treatment options for patients.
The orders for the Novalis Tx platform, launched in September 2007, include 10 in the United States and four in Europe, according to the companies.
The Palo Alto, Calif.-based Varian and the Munich, Germany-based BrainLAB said the Novalis Tx allows multiple beam energies from six to 20 million electron volts for treating deep-seated tumors, sparing surrounding healthy tissue.
