3M introduces computer-assisted coding software
3M has introduced its 3M Codefinder computer-assisted edition, a new software application that aids inpatient coding process with mapping tools that analyze and interpret text-based clinical documentation to identify codes for review.
Integrated with its 3M Coding and Reimbursement System, the company said it allows coders to validate, edit and perform final code assignment in a single desktop view.
With a terminology engine that recognizes and maps medical terms for diagnosis and procedure codes, the Salt Lake City-based 3M said its software automates time-consuming manual document review, freeing coders to focus on accuracy and compliance.
