NovaRad lands RIS contract with Louisiana medical, surgical clinic

Lake Charles Medical & Surgical Clinic in Lake Charles, La., has installed NovaRad’s NovaRIS to help simplify scheduling, billing and reporting at the clinic’s main office and six satellite offices.

Additional features in NovaRIS include marquee alerts per user type for fast inpatient scheduling and clinic based alerts; foot pedal transcription playback and speed control; preliminary listening of reports by referring physicians off site and remotely; improved billing module to include easier entry and combining of CPT, ICD-9 and standard procedures; compressing of scanned key documents such as insurance cards, drivers licenses and prescriptions.

The contract brings the number of installations in Louisiana hospitals, clinics and imaging centers to 18, the American Fork, Utah-based NovaRad said.
