First Professionals, Alliant to insure cardiologists

First Professionals Insurance Company has entered into an agreement with Alliant Insurance Services to provide a medical professional liability insurance program exclusive to cardiologists and cardiothoracic surgeons.

The new cardiovascular professionals insurance program (CPIP), which is insured by the Jacksonville, Fla.-based First Professionals, will initially be offered in Texas, Florida and Georgia.

The CPIP targets the cardiologists and cardiothoracic surgeons, who will be rated and reviewed solely on the cardiovascular specialties, according to First Professionals. The CPIP is available to individuals, groups and the risk management experts to develop and provide specialty-specific risk management services and products.

First Professionals intends to expand into states outside of initial three.
