Merck/Schering-Plough Pharmaceuticals (20025) is providing product information to the doctors in attendance, specifically regarding Vytorin.

Vytorin, a combination of Zetia (ezetimibe) and Zocor (simvastatin), was clinically proven to lower LDL cholesterol more than Lipitor or Zocor alone.

Zetia also may be taken by itself. Unlike statins that work mainly in the liver to lower cholesterol, Zetia works in the digestive tract by helping to block the absorption of cholesterol that comes from food.
