GE launches mobile cardiovascular ultrasound system
CHICAGO—GE Healthcare is launching a new mobile, streamlined Vivid S5 cardiovascular ultrasound system, which is designed as a cardiovascular solution for various care areas, from the hospital and clinic to the operating room and the physician's office.
The stress echo capabilities and raw data DICOM of the Vivid S5 expand the reach of patient examinations, according to the company. Furthermore, the console benefits of a full sized 17-inch LCD monitor, four active transducer connectors and room for on-board peripherals are retained in a miniaturized console weighing less than 160 lbs, GE said.
Additionally, GE said that both the Vivid S6 cardiovascular and shared-services system and the new Vivid S5 feature backward data compatibility with the rest of GE’s Vivid family, including Vivid 3 and Vivid 4.
